Porto Bake House was created from a love of baking and a desire to share the comforting flavors of American-style treats with the community I now call home. It’s a place where fresh-baked goods bring people together—whether over a morning coffee, a slow weekend brunch, or a special celebration.

When I moved from the U.S. to Portugal three years ago, I had no idea how quickly this place would feel like home. In 2023, I opened Café Passaporte in Porto, bringing together two things I love: specialty coffee and bagels. What I didn’t expect was how warmly the community—both local and international—would embrace these flavors from my past.
Seeing people enjoy American-style baked goods made me feel connected in a way I never could have imagined. That sense of home and belonging is what inspired me to create Porto Bake House.

This bakery is more than just a place to get something sweet—it’s a way to bring people together, to create a sense of warmth and familiarity no matter where you’re from. Porto has welcomed me with open arms, and through Porto Bake House, I hope to give a little of that warmth back, one baked good at a time.
